The boxes in which we transport the pangolins are pretty hefty and are made from thick wood so that they will last. We want to manufacture lots of these and leave them with local stakeholders like the police, rangers, vets, border posts etc so that when a pangolin is rescued we can have a way to transport it safely and securely without having to get a box to them from potentially hundreds of kilometres away. These transport boxes then double as makeshift burrows for the pangolins to inhabit while they are at the clinic and the rehab centre. Each pangolin can use a box for up to three months sometimes. It’s their temporary home as they literally get back on their feet after their ordeal. We can literally never have too many of them.
