Pangolin transport boxes

The boxes in which we transport the pangolins are pretty hefty and are made from thick wood so that they will last. We want to manufacture lots of these and leave them with local stakeholders like the police, rangers, vets, border posts etc so that when a pangolin is rescued we can have a way to transport it safely and securely without having to get a box to them from potentially hundreds of kilometres away. These transport boxes then double as makeshift burrows for the pangolins to inhabit while they are at the clinic and the rehab centre. Each pangolin can use a box for up to three months sometimes. It’s their temporary home as they literally get back on their feet after their ordeal. We can literally never have too many of them.

The pangolin rescue boxes are manufactured from solid pieces of wood that are built to last. We use very strong fasteners and hinges (also built to last) as these boxes become temporary homes for the pangolins in the time between rescue and release.

Each box can cost up to R3000 at the moment as we have not ordered enough to scale up the production. If we can increase the orders this price will fall. As we have said we can never have enough of these boxes and the more we do have and the more we can spread them over the region then the closer a potential pangolin in peril can be to a secure environment.

If you would like to donate a whole box then please add 12 of these items to the cart.
