Diagnostic equipment

R2,500.00

The new building that house the veterinary clinic is a little bare at the moment and really needs some new equipment. Specifically, it needs more tools to aid with the diagnosis of ailments that the pangolins might be suffering from. Often the pangolins have been kept in appalling conditions for long periods of time and the faster we can figure out what is ailing them the faster we can get them back out into the wild again. Instead of having to trek to another location with the samples, it is far faster to use our own equipment. The team at the clinic are highly trained and are able to use all the equipment listed below with confidence and accuracy.

  • Microscope – for scat analysis for example
  • Centrifuge machine for blood separation
  • Examination table with rubber traction mat
  • Stethoscope
  • Multiple smaller items (too numerous to list).

Description

The clinic is in need of some new equipment to help is diagnose potential ailments that the pangolins (and the other animals that come into the centre) are suffering from. Apart from a physical external examination, it’s always good to have a decent microscope and centrifuge on hand to help with analysis. There are of course several items and pieces of equipment that support this type of work but we estimate that to kit out the clinic will cost around R22 500 minimum.
