Anyone who has worked in conservation will be able to tell you just how invaluable a batch of camera traps can be. Along with helping us to monitor burrows and release sites they also help with animal population census work as well as monitoring areas of electric fences (another project we are working on). It’s important that we buy good quality camera traps with long battery life and most importantly excellent night vision capabilities.

Description

A decent camera trap with effective night vision capabilities does not come cheap but they are essential pieces of kit. We could literally never have too many of them and at around R4500 per unit it’s a hefty part of the budget…but well worth it. The traps come with memory cards as well as rechargeable batteries which helps reduce the running costs and their rugged build means that they do last a long time.

Rest assured that all funds will be spent solely for the use of rescue and rehabilitation activities by the centre.
